EVEN IF YOU FIND A BACKROAD, YOU GET BACK ON THAT MAIN ROAD WHERE WE MIGHT HAVE UNITS ANYWAY. ANYW. TRAPSTER SAYS POLICE OEN HIDE WHERE WE ARE RIGHT NOW ON THE CORNER OF PEACH ORCHARD AND WINDSOR SPRING, WITH BOBBY JONES JUST BEHIND US. THIS IS A HIGH TRAFFIC AREA, BUT THERE ARE NO PATROL CARS RIGHT NOW. SHERIFFS DEPUTIES SEEM TO DOUBT THE PROGRAM AS ANYTHING OTHER THAN JUST A TECHNOLOGICAL WARNING. WARNING. IT MAY THE MORE MODERN VERSION OF FLASHING HEADLIGHTS HEADLIGHTRAPST SPOTS 3 SPEED TRAPS AND A RED LIGHT CAMERA IN AUGUSTA. 1 MORE SPEED TRAP IN MARTINEZ..AND ANOTHER IN NORTH AUGUSTA. BUT ALL THE AREAS INCLUDE REPORTS FROMVER THE LAST WEEK AND ARENT NECESSARILY UPTOTHE MINUTE. MINUTE. THE IDEA OF BROADCASTING THAT DOESNT SIT WELL WITH ME AT ALL. YOU MIGHT GET AWAY, BUT I WOULDNT GUARANTEE THAT. THERES OF COURSE NO WAY TO KNOW HOW ACCUTE TRAPSTER IS. LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS SAY IF YOURE SPEEDING IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT TECHNOLOGY YOU USE YOULL BE CAUGHT ANYWAY. THEIR BEST ADVICE NO SURPRISE HE JUST OBEY THE TRAFFIC LAWS. LAWS.AND OF COURSE..PEOPLE IN GEORGIA COULD GET HIT WITH EVEN MORE FINES IF THEY SPEED.. SPEED..THE SUPER SPEEDER LAW GOES INTO EFFECT ON NEW YEARS DAY. IF YOURE CAUGHT GOG 85 ON FOURLANE ROADS..OR 75 ON TWOLANE ROADS...THE STATE OF GEORGIA WILL HIT YOU WITH AN ADDITIONAL 200 DOLLAR FINE. seat belts...and they say dont be surprised if you drive up on a check point. it can be a warning for drivers looking to avoid police speed traps..check points.. and traffic cameras. but this is no radar detector. it comes right to your cell phone. phone. news 12s bryan baker is on your side with more about the app. hes liven augusta with a look. were on the corner of peach orchard and windsor spring. a driver used a cell phone app called trapster to report a speed trap here yesterday.it touts itself as a useful tool to trk where law enforcement vehicles are helping you avoid potential traffic tickets. but not everyone is buying in. richmond county sheriffs captain jim griffin has never seen trapster. its not on his radar, either. either. when you go fishing, you obviously go wheryou can catch the most, but we may not stay in any one place. place.trapster is a free application for some cell phones and gps. its website says it goes beyond radar detectors by offering reports from drivers on speed traps.. check points.. and traffic cameras.griffin not imessed. impressed. even if you find a backroad, you get back on that main road where we might have units anyway. anyw. trapster says police oen hide where we are right now on the corner of peach orchard and windsor spring, with bobby jones just behind us. this is a high traffic area, but there are no patrol cars right now. sheriffs deputies seem to doubt the program as anything other than just a technological warning. warning. it may the more modern version of flashing headlights headlightrapst spots 3 speed traps and a red light camera in augusta. 1 more speed trap in martinez..and another in north augusta. but all the areas include reports fromver the last week and arent necessarily uptothe minute. minute. the idea of broadcasting that doesnt sit well with me at all. all.david colmans of the georgia insurance information service tells us via skype that he doesnt like the idea of going around law enforcement. enforcement. this might get people to slow down but only to the point the report on the phone says there is a speed trap at x,y location and once theyre past that, off they go again. again. you might get away, but i wouldnt guarantee that. theres of course no way to know how accute trapster is. law enforcement officers say if youre speeding it doesnt matter what technology you use youll be caught anyway. their best advice no surprise he just obey the traffic laws. laws.and of course..people in georgia could get hit with even more fines if they speed.. speed..the super speeder law goes into effect on new years day. if youre caught gog 85 on fourlane roads..or 75 on twolane roads...the state of georgia will hit you with an additional 200 dollar fine. as morand more people are turning to coupons wendys is trying coupons turning to
