CAUSE ITS LIKE EVERYTHING SEX SELLS D MAKES PLENTY OF MONEY FOR EM...THIS FUELING SOME COISSIONERS DRIVE...AS THE CITY NTINUES TO LOSE LEGAL TRACTION. THE COURT OF APPEALS RECENTLY DECLARING AUGUSTA ZONING RULES CANT KEEP THE SHOP FROM OPERATING... OPERATING...ITS A DOUBLEEDGE0SWORD THEY DO HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT UNDER THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES BUT WE CAN STILL FIGHT IT. a storm is possibly brewing on the augusta commission. xmart... the adult video store has surnaced agn. and this time the city is runninout of excuses toeep the doors closed. as news 12s chris thomas reports... their final decision could cost taxpayers thounds. thousands. xmart...the adult supercenter...has beeout of commission for years now...as the augusta commission wages a costly battle at your expense expensewe dont want it in our town...it was our forefathers the previous commissioners that allowed them to be there.evenstill xmart owners are looking to get back to business..recentl y applying for a new license... license...theres got to be a place in our community for them, but it dont neccessarily have to be in one of our gatewgateways are the main issue...the store sits along gordon highway in direct line with visitors travelingfrom the airport. cause its like everything sex sells d makes plenty of money for em...this fueling some coissioners drive...as the city ntinues to lose legal traction. the court of appeals recently declaring augusta zoning rules cant keep the shop from operating... operating...its a doubleedge0sword they do have a legal right under the constitution of the united states but we can still fight it. it.the five yearattle has all lead to this...the item is back on the agenda...50,000 dollars inlegal fees so far. far.yeah, but we could probably lose a lot more if we continue to fight it.the ult store has teatened to sue the city for years of lost revenue...if an agreemt isnt reached soon.. soon..well i say let the attorneys be creative thats what they get paid for. for.we have oth things we need to deal with and this is not something that we need to spend the taxpayers on year afer year after year.chris thomas, news 12. store owners filed for a business license last week. they are set to go before the commission in june. as prices just keep on climbing and some people are saying enough is enough. they are looking for alternatives. like bicycles.
